The concept of this show was the idea of Curator Trinita Kennedy of the Frist Center for the Arts in Nashville. The show was 7 years in development and brought together pieces of Italian Renaissance art that have never before been displayed together. The focus of the show was the contribution of the Franciscan and Dominican Orders to the development of the art and architecture to the time period now known as the Renaissance. The respectful competition and rivalry between the two orders is recognized in the pieces in the show.
