Nagaland, Mar 08 (ANI): A conclave on implementation of MSME scheme was recently held in Nagaland. Inaugurated by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Kalraj Mishra, the conclave aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship, employment and sustained development of MSME sector in the northeast region. The minister announced Rs. 6 crore for setting up a 'Khadi Plaza' for Nagaland. The event was attended by representatives from all northeastern states. Later, the minister also visited Tool Room and Training Centre in Dimapur where specialized tools, dyes, moulds, jigs and fixtures are designed and manufactured. A National Level Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial Exhibition was also organized in Dimapur. Altogether 50 stalls were set up where the local artisans exhibited various hand-made products like traditional Shawls, bags, Jewelery, bamboo and cane products, artificial flowers and house hold tools. A large number of people in the Northeast are engaged in small and medium enterprises. More jobs can be generated in the sector, thus giving a boost to the economy.
