Thousands face evacuation from volcano zone

Chilean and Argentinian authorities have declared a 25 kilometre evacuation zone around the active Copahue volcano. There has been some seismic activity around the crater, which is 500 kilometres south of Santiago, but no eruption as yet. More than 2,200 people will be rehomed.
