August 29 – December 1, 2013
From next September the Gallerie dell’Accademia will present the exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci. The Universal Man", curated by Dr. Annalisa Perissa Torrini, Director of the Department of Prints and Drawings. The exhibition is focused around the large group of pages in the Master of Vinci’s hand, preserved in the Gallerie dell’Accademia’s collection since 1822. These consist of thirty graphic works, usually not on public display, which were exhibited together for the last time in 1980.
The Venetian folios will be exhibited alongside twenty-seven prestigious loans from Italian museums such as the Uffizi, the National Gallery of Parma, the Royal Library of Turin, and from important European collections: the Royal Collection Trust of Windsor Castle, the British Museum, the Musée du Louvre, the Ashmolean Museum, and more.
