"The Calling" is the 1st movement of Symphony No. 1: Pilgrimage, an original work for full Orchestra, by composer Cheryl Shantz. This symphony has two other movements, "Lost" and "The Awakening," respectively, both of which can also be heard on YouTube. As a whole, the symphony is meant to track life's perilous journey, from the sweet naivety of youthful illusion through to the hard-earned wisdom that returns us to the place of our original escape.
