The title of this stoner comedy refers to a strand of incredibly potent marijuana that gets our protagonists (Seth Rogen and James Franco) good and blitzed as they find themselves on the wrong side of drug-dealing gangsters. Franco and Rogen have always been outspoken about their use of weed which gives Pineapple Express a sincerity that complements its wacky, unpredictable blend of laughs and violence.
