Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Othello for Famicom Disk System developed by Hal and published by Kawada.
Othello. Remember that game? The one where you and an opponent take turns placing discs on a board, sandwiching your opponent's color between your own and flipping them over? Well, for whatever reason, it's been huge in Japan since the 1970's and can be found on almost every video game platform in some form or another. This particular version offers an AI opponent (with selectable difficulty) and two-player support, as well as keeping all the pieces neat and clean because they're on your television and not subject to being knocked around by a devious housecat.
This video review features video gameplay footage of Othello for Famicom Disk System and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
