Police officer knocks over young woman at Tucson NCAA riot

Police in Tucson, Arizona are investigating an incident captured on camera on Saturday night where a young woman was violently attacked by a police officer for no apparent reason.
The assault took place during a riot after the NCAA tournament in Tucson. The University of Arizona lost to the University of Wisconsin and loyal Arizona supporters took to the streets. Riot police were sent in to maintain order and at least a dozen students were arrested.
During the riot, a young woman who was shown texting on her phone, was suddenly assaulted by a police officer with a baton. The force of the shove sent her flying over a bench and her friends went to her aid. Witnesses then yelled at the officer, saying that she hadn't done anything to deserve the attack.
The young woman was not seriously injured and the Tucson police department have said they are working to determine if the police officer had violated protocol.
