Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Gyruss for Famicom Disk System developed and published by Konami.
Gyruss originally hit arcades in 1983, where it took the fight to Atari by making a Tempest game that improved upon Tempest. No more weird vector graphics, no more awkward shapes, just a perfect circle, a ship, and a bunch of oncoming alien craft slinking up the sides of the cylinder toward you. Your goal, as it is in most SHMUPS, is simple: Blow 'em up, travel the solar system, and bring peace through this alien invasion.
This video review features video gameplay footage of Gyruss for Famicom and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
