Mexico steps up efforts to treat Trachoma

The Mexican government has increased its efforts to treat the disease, Trachoma, which affects the eye and can cause blindness. Communities in Chiapas, one of the country's poorest states, have higher rates of prevalence because of poor hygiene and a lack of medicine. Health workers says that they have to overcome mistrust among the population to eradicate the illness but the government is doing little to alleviate the underlying causes for its spread.
