Barbarians - The Vikings (British narrated version)

The Vikings! Everyone knows the Vikings so I'll spare you an introduction. You might recognise some names from History Channel's recent drama (an entertaining romp). Unlike most of the other "barbarians" in this documentary series, the Norsemen weren't part of the Rome-bothering Migration Period but arrived several centuries later, terrorising everyone else. This profile covers the whole Viking Age: we follow their first raids in Britain and see how they colonised Iceland and Greenland, exploring as far west as North America (Newfoundland) and settling in Kievan Rus' - the state that gave birth to Russia - in the east.
