MLB 2002 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of MLB 2002 for the PlayStation developed by 989 Sports and published by Sony.

During the original PlayStation era, baseball games didn’t get any more realistic than MLB 2002. Every team, every stadium and every player in Major League Baseball are here, and the gameplay is more complex than many baseball games before it. Hitting involves a target-like grid that players use to aim at the pitch, and pitchers have several different pitches in their arsenal. MLB 2002 features several modern game modes, including exhibition, season, franchise and playoff play. The game’s presentation was as sharp as it could be, including commentary from Vin Scully and Dave Campbell. It pales in comparison to modern MLB games and feels even more dated than some NES baseball games, but when it comes to PlayStation baseball games, this was a good one. MLB 2002 offers single and local multiplayer play.

This video review features video gameplay footage of MLB 2002 for the PlayStation and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
