Prayer vigil in New York for release of three Israeli kidnapped teenagers

About two hundred people gather across the street from the Israeli Consulate in New York Monday to call for the safe release of three teenage boys abducted from the occupied West Bank.

The three seminary students, including an American national, disappeared last Thursday.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) NAOMI BRUNNLEHRMAN, SAYING:

"We support Israel. We want the whole world to know we want these boys home."

Rabbi Avi Weiss addresses the crowd.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) RABBI AVI WEISS, HEBREW INSTITUTE OF RIVERDALE, SAYING:

"Our hearts are broken, not because we are on the political right or the political left. Our hearts are broken as Jews and as human beings. I ask that everyone who listens to my voice to image that an American kid was kidnapped off the streets of New York. Naftali Frankel is an American citizen and he was kidnapped and our hearts cry out on his behalf."
