A situation involving some heated words spoken by a pilot to the air traffic controller guiding him in after landing is being investigated by Delta Airlines.

When the pilot was told he was headed for the wrong taxiway, he said, “Hey, you know what? We’ll taxi out there any way we want unless you tell us to. I don’t like your attitude.”

The controller responded that he wasn’t giving any attitude, just correcting a wrong path.

To that the pilot responded, "Like, oh my God, there's another plane out there, like six miles away. Your attitude is really something, sir…Good Morning.”

The pilot also tersely mentioned that he’d made it to the taxiway he’d been told to take.

Again, the air traffic controller said that it wasn’t a display of attitude.

At that point another pilot chimed in with "Settle down, Capt. Happy."

Delta has since assured the public that passenger safety was never in question.
