3 more RAB men held

Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday night arrested three more members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in connection with the Narayanganj seven-murder case.

The arrestees, assistant sub-inspector Bazlur Rahman and habildars Nasiruddin and Abul Kalam Azad, were in RAB-11 when the killings took place.

Investigative officer of the case and district DB officer-in-charge Mamunur Rashid Mandal confirmed the news of the arrest.

The IO claimed that during investigation they have found evidences of the arrestees' involved in the killing. Once informed, the RAB headquarters handed them over to DB police.

The arrestees are supposed to be produced before the judicial magistrate's court today, Tuesday.

On 27 April, seven people including Narayanganj city corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar were abducted. Their bodies were recovered from the river Shitalakkhya on April 30 and May 1.

A total of 27 people, including 14 RAB members, have been arrested in two cases filed in this connection so far
