New Yorkers honor slain police officers

A candlelight vigil for two slain New York City police officers.

On Saturday, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were ambushed by a gunman -- 28-year old Ismaaiyl Brinsley -- as they sat in their car.

Brinsley then killed himself.

Authorities say it may have been a revenge attack for recent police killings of unarmed black men.

As Officer Liu's family grieved privately...

...Officer Ramos' family came out to thank supporters and remember their loved one.

"He loved his job. He loved his wife. He was a dedicated father. And I wish I could be half the man my cousin was. Really."

On Sunday afternoon, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo met with Ramos' 13-year-old son Jaden.

"His son said to me, why? Why my dad? What did my dad do wrong? His father did nothing wrong he was a beautiful public servant."
