Coming up in pairs, passengers from the burning Norman Atlantic ferry reach safety.

New video shows the ongoing rescue efforts of Italian and Greek helicopter crews above the Adriatic Sea.

The fire broke out early Sunday morning on the lower deck garage of the vessel.

Now crews are battling darkness and bad weather to rescue the almost 500 passengers and crew.

So far at least one man has died.

Greek authorities say they've rescued 156 people from the ship, which is drifting in fierce winds into Albanian waters.
