Kahani Pakistani - Deep in the Heart of Texans

Playing off of the words of the famous song, “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” host, Ayesha Gilani, sets out to uncover what lies deep within the heart of Texans. Her search brings her to a fixture deep-rooted in Texas history, the historic State Fair of Texas which debuted in 1886. At the start of the journey, Ayesha opens the show inside a barn where she recalls her sentiments about the mistreatment of animals during yesterday’s trip to the rodeo, and begins a new day on a brighter note by feeding and playing with the barn animals. Continue along through the fair where she watches an ostrich race, interviews athletes, meets exotic animals, tries famous foods, jumps into the main street float parade, watches the musical night show, plays games, rides attractions, and shares the history behind many of the fair’s legendary attractions, each with their own story, including footage of the earlier fairs and its place within pop culture through time.
