Kahani Pakistan - People of New York
Kahani Pakistani continues its travels through the United States. with a stop in New York City. Ayesha Gilani opens the show in the famous Times Square, where she asks tourists visiting from all over the world what brings them to the Big Apple and what makes it so special to them.
Then, keeping true to the age-old tradition of street performing, Ayesha meets a talented a cappella group, CM3, who tell her about their goals and perform an impromptu song.
Ayesha then stops in on an haute couture shoot taking place on the streets of the city; renowned Pakistani fashion designer, Ali Xeeshan, has traveled from Lahore to bring Pakistani fashion to the States. Ayesha pulls him away from directing his shoot to speak to him about his experience as a professional in America.
Finally, Ayesha shares a story that struck her to the core, of photographer, Asim Farooki. Asim, also a doctor, was suffering from many diseases and was told that either he would lose his life to them or would need to drop 200 pounds. He gave his life a complete overhaul and is now fit and healthy, and in the process, discovered a new passion for which he’s received critical acclaim.
