"Cheng Pei-pei -- l'Héroine de la Shaw" is a short documentary (13 minutes) directed by Frederic Ambroisine with and about Cheng Pei-pei /鄭佩佩, swordwoman movie queen who played in martial arts classics like "Come Drink With Me / 大醉俠" (1996) and "Golden Swallow /金燕子" (1968) and more recently in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon /臥虎藏龍" (2000). In this excerpt, she's talking about the beginning of her career in Hong Kong at the Shaw Brothers studios. The first movie she did for this company was "The Lotus Lamp /寶蓮燈", also starring screen beauty Linda Lin Dai / 林黛, who commited suicide before the end of the shooting.

Cheng Pei-pei appears in others Ambroisine's documentaries like "Ho Meng-hua -- le Commercial" (about her favorite director Ho Meng-hua /何夢華), "Le Peplum Martial de la Shaw" (about the action epic "The 14 Amazones /十四女英豪") and "Cheng Pei-pei vs Chang Cheh" (about the her tensed collaboration with Chang Cheh on the shooting of "Golden Swallow" and "Flying Dagger /飛刀手").
