Real life Fight Club: Suspect claims police brutality, CCTV shows he punched himself in the face
Aleksander Robin Tomaszewski tried pinning assault charges on Lane County detectives in Eugene, Oregon but surveillance video shows his injuries were self-inflicted.
Police initially brought Tomaszewski in for questioning on charges of stalking and first-degree sexual abuse. After the interrogation, the suspect was escorted to a holding cell where he carried out his not so master plan.
While locked in the cell, Tomaszewski beat the piss out of himself. When deputies returned, he tried blaming it on the detectives and told deputies he wanted to press assault charges. That's when he was informed about the surveillance camera that captured the self-inflicted beat-down on video.
Tomaszewski jacked himself in the face roughly 45 times over the course of four minutes. He later confessed to fabricating the story with the hopes of being released from jail earlier but his scheme ended up backfiring on him.
He was hit with additional charges of initiating a false report and coercion. Those charges carry a $500 fine and 20 days behind bars.
