Greg Plitt Jr. dies in accident with Metrolink train in Burbank

A Los Angeles commuter train struck and killed a well-known fitness model in Burbank, just outside of L.A. Saturday afternoon.
37-year-old George Gregory Plitt Jr. was with a group of friends on the tracks just north of the Burbank Metrolink station. According to fellow fitness guru Jamie Eason, he was filming an ad spot for his line of protein shake drinks.
“He had on all black. The train went by. I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand,” said Metrolink passenger Victor Crowell.
Plitt was a West Point graduate who starred in Bravo's reality television show Work Out and NBC's daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, in addition to being a superstar in the fitness world and appearing on more than 250 magazine covers in his career. The Baltimore native served five years in the Army.
