“L.A. Scapes” is the brainchild of TAPED3CK’s singer and primary songwriter Lillard Anthony. His newly formed L.A.-based garage rock project TAPED3CK birthed a batch of ten ripping rock tracks last year and instead of tossing those files into a digital vortex, he decided to tap his friends, some of whom are burgeoning directorial talent in their own right, for each music video installment of their new five part series.

“L.A. Scapes” showcases new and on the brink directors and their perspectives of Rock City set to the soundtrack of L.A.’s newest and tightest rock project- TAPED3CK.

Lillard explains: “I’ve been deeply involved in filmmaking lately, so I wanted to get the best upcoming filmmakers to create a wide-scoping vision of L.A. that was real, raw, and fun, just like the city itself. I have a love affair with Los Angeles, so I only have one real stipulation for the director – it must be an L.A. story.”

Watch as Taped3ck steamrolls over the straying remnants of the derisive emo trend, straight past SoCal pop punk and possibly even more important than either of those, the dance music that’s currently emasculating sales of the genre and the strip that birthed it.

The first single/episode “Hey L.A. (Los Angeles)” is the band’s introduction to the community and it pays appropriate attention to everything that Rock City’s best sounds include: offensive licks, gutteral choruses, big, big drums and an unapologetic, warm groove that can only come from recording a rock record the right way. Brian Virtue (30 Seconds to Mars, Audioslave, Chevelle) brought his magic to the mix.
