Kansas City shootings: Three people killed after home invasions

Police arrested a man who fatally shot three people in a south Kansas City neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.
According to local news reports, the shootings began after a series of home invasions in south Kansas City. One person was shot in the first house, two were attacked in another home, and two more victims were shot in a third house.
The suspect fled in a stolen Toyota Highlander. The vehicle was abandoned near a motel on Northwest Prairie View Road. Three hotel guests were physically assaulted by a man who unsuccessfully carjacked a woman, KCTV5 reported.
The attacker fled the scene on foot. Police have not formally linked the shootings with the assaults, but local media reports say the same man was responsible for all of the crimes.
The suspect is a black man in his late 20s or early 30s weighing about 200 pounds. At the time of the shootings, the suspect was wearing dark pants a black rag on his head. Captain Tye Grant told the press that the suspect was wearing a dark hoodie.
