Among all the untold trends that rise and fall in house and techno, Kompakt just keeps on keeping on; always varied, but held together around an unending flow of incredibly pure, incredibly powerful, elemental dancefloor forces. It's also a constantly collaborative venture, its core artists constantly combining and recombining to keep the basic template fresh, and here we're very happy to see two of the label owners Michael Mayer and Reinhard Voigt (younger brother of the mighty Wolfgang) on a split release. Mayer's track is, surprise surprise, an absolutely classic Kompakt banger.
