PRESENTED BY ZACHARY JOHNSON
Aymber is a 23-year-old pop singer who has been writing songs since she picked up a pawn shop guitar in 2012.
"I spent my last check on a guitar I saw hanging in the window of a pawn shop and I never put it down," she says, telling how she wrote her first song the day she took her guitar home.
Next Aymber bought a webcam and started putting up her favorite songs on YouTube. "It was just for fun, I really didn't think anything would come of it," she says.
The more videos she put up the more subscribers and views she began to get and the more she began to consider performing live. Two months after posting her first YouTube video (with a little push from her family and friends) she decided to try open-mic night at a tiny brewery in Davie, Florida.
"It was small, cramped, and everyone seemed too much into their own conversations to care about who was behind the mic," she says. "About half way through my first song I noticed how quiet it was in the room. Complete silence. And I was terrified. When the song was over and I finally got my nerves in check and opened my eyes, everyone was on their feet, cheering for me. That gave me the confidence I needed to keep going."
In the past 2 years Aymber has opened for artists like Love & Theft, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Outshyne, The Pointer Sisters and Charlie Worsham. She also played at The West Palm Beach Amphitheater, The Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival, The Hard Rock Cafe, at BB King's and sang the National Anthem at the Miami Marlin's Stadium.
Aymber is currently writing and performing across Florida with plans to release an EP later in 2015.
