Texas Man Shot After Bullet Bounces Off Armadillo

A Texas man has survived a head wound after his attempt to shoot an armadillo backfired, with the bullet ricocheting off its shell and back at him.

Armadillos are known for their distinctive shells which are designed to protect them from predators.

A Texas man experienced the defensive mechanism first hand when a bullet he fired at one of them ricocheted off the shell and flew back at him.

The incident was thought to have happened early Thursday before 3am when, as the man told police, he spotted the armadillo on the road and decided to shoot at it.

Though the bullet hit him in the head, he was only treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
