Korean Peninsula on the Brink of War

After 43 hours of marathon talks, the two Koreas have finally reached an agreement to diffuse tensions on the Korean peninsula. The recent crisis was triggered by the explosion of land mines planted in the Demilitarized Zone by North Korea. Tensions escalated as the North fired artillery shells at the western border.
