Hank feels under pressure when Stan comes up with some alternative therapies to try to help Hank with his learning difficulties. When Hank ends up in detention with Mr Rock and realises that it's both fun and a way of avoiding his dad, Stan becomes suspicious and is horrified to discover that Hank has been lying about detention just to avoid him.
Stan gives himself a personality makeover and becomes 'cool dad', which is initially great, but when Stan assumes that he'll perform with Hank, Frankie and Ashley in the school talent show, Hank realises that his dad is actually a massive embarrassment. Hank is forced to tell his dad the truth - he preferred him the way he was, annoying therapies and all.
