President Jacob Zuma was honoured by His Majesty King Khosikhulu Toni Mphephu Ramabulana of the Royal Vhavenda people, with the Makhado Bravery Award, for the role that he played in the struggle against apartheid and the liberation of South Africans. The King Makhado Bravery Award is the highest accolade of the Vhavenda Kingdom named after the legendary warrior king and commander of the Vhavenda community
