School hero Yaovi Mawuli gives Nike Concord Air Jordan 11 lows to bullied classmate
A North Carolina high school student helped a bullied classmate by giving him a pair of new shoes.
Yaovi Mawuli noticed a student was making fun of Jared Newby, who was wearing a pair of worn out sneakers during French class, according to a by local Fox affiliate WGHP.
Yaovi has an extensive shoe collection because he trades shoes online. He decided to give Jared a pair of “Concord” Air Jordan 11 lows that he had in his size.
However, Yaovi worried that giving Jared the shoes directly would hurt his feelings, so he sought help online. A school counselor gave Jared the shoes from Yaovi in her office on the next day.
Jared threw the old shoes immediately after he got the new shoes.
“It felt like I was standing on air,” Jared told WGHP.
Jared took a picture with Yaovi in his brand new Air Jordans that has been making the rounds in social media.
