According to United Nation figures, 300 million women and girls in India do not have access to a safe and proper toilet.
PM Modi announced an ambitious plan to build 11 crore toilets. In the last four years, only 57.2 lakh toilets have been built per year. This means that the government will have to triple the pace of construction.
