Mexican Army and Marines in Iguala on Sept, 26, 2014

After repeated demands for the release of Defense Department documents on last year’s forcible disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, some records were made available that point to Mexican military forces having extended knowledge in real time of what was occurring. Both the Army and the Marines, for example, were present in the city of Iguala on the night of September 26, 2014, when municipal police intercepted and violently attacked the students. They knew when the police stopped the students, opened fire, and detained them, yet did not intervene to stop the attacks. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico for teleSUR
