Waqar Youniss bouncer to Sachin Tendulkar 1989 Pakistan Tour

In his 1st international tour for the senior team, a 16 year old Sachin Tendulkar was hit by a vicious bouncer bowled by Waqar Younis, who was also playing his first series for Pakistan and was credited as the fastest bowler going around.Tendulkar was bounced repeatedly by the Pakistani pace quartet of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Zakir Khan. After being hit by this Waqar bouncer, Sachin was bleeding profusely but refused to leave the field and went on to smack Waqar for a couple of boundaries in the same over on his way to a fighting 57. Psychologically, that was an important breakthrough. It showed that The Little Master was ready for the big league. Later in that tour, sachin hit the Spin Wizard Abdul Quadir for 26 runs in an over.
