Chile: Forestry Storage Area Set on Fire

A group of armed men attacked a forestry equipment storage area in the southern Araucania region where the indigenous Mapuche people are fighting for their ancestral land. Three machines were set on fire and employees were attacked. The identities of the armed men are unknown, but signs referring to the Mapuche’s land rights claim were found at the scene. The groundskeeper said the assailants threw him face down and pointed a gun at him that appeared to be the same type used by the police. teleSUR
