Learn how to make Anarse from our chef Archana only on Ruchkar Mejwani. Anarsa is a popular Indian sweet prepared mostly during Diwali festival. It is an authentic Maharashtrian recipe that is quick and easy to make at home.


Ingredients:

Rice Grains (as required)
Powdered Sugar (equal of the proportion of rice grains)
Poppy Seeds
Ghee for frying

Method:

To make the dough for Anarse:
- Soak the rice grains in some water for 3 days. Keep changing the water everyday.
- After 3 days, wash the grains thoroughly and spread them over a piece of cloth to dry.
- Then grind the grains in a mixer to make a thick mixture.
- Add equal quantity of powdered sugar and add 2-3 tsp of ghee to the mixture and make a dough.
- Store the dough in a tight container for 8-10 days. Let it ferment. This dough can be used to make anarse.

To make the Anarse:
- First, spread the poppy seeds on a flat surface.
- Take small portion of the dough and place it on the poppy seeds.
- Flatten the dough with your hands.
- Deep fry the anarse in hot ghee.
- Anarse is ready.
