Meal Between French, Iranian Presidents Scrapped Over Wine

A proposed official state meal between France’s President François Hollande and Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has reportedly been scrapped over conflicts about the presence of wine and other foods against Islamic law.

France’s President François Hollande had been planning to host a formal lunch for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani but balked over demands for halal food and no wine.
While French state meals usually consist of cheeses, wines, and rich foods
