A roll of toilet paper police found in a Pennsylvania would-be robber’s home, led to slew of charges including the downright foolish attempted robbery of a pizza parlor over the weekend.
Eric Frey, 29, attempted to rob Michael Maria’s Pizza in Uniontown by handing an employee a note written on a piece of toilet paper that read:
"I have a gun. Give me $300."
Police were notified when the employee surreptitiously hit the panic button underneath the cashier counter.
Before Frey could leave with the cash, officers caught up to him.
Frey told police that a “large man with a beard and his face covered with a hoodie” in a nearby alley used a gun to force him to commit the crime.
After officers searched his apartment, however, they saw a newly opened roll of toilet paper with the pen impression from Frey's note on an outer sheet.
Police also found 91 grams of marijuana, syringes and spoons containing burned drug residue.
Frey, also has four unrelated drug cases pending, and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
He faces a preliminary hearing early next month before a Uniontown judge for attempted robbery, theft, and drug charges.
