If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be?
My first wish would be to have infinite wishes. It seems like it would blow up in your face, right? But it’s what I would wish for!
What is your favorite dish to cook?
I’m not that into pasta, I prefer rice in all varieties: I love Cuban rice with tomato and fried plantain, and rice-based salads.
What is your wildest dream?
My wildest dream involves a lot of money; I play the Euro Millions every Tuesday and Friday. I hope to win one of these days and, when I win, the plan is to buy a sailboat, forget everything, and go sailing around the world… stopping at every beach, port, and just enjoying life.
What is your most treasured possession?
This.
It’s a little elephant my aunt brought me from India. She was traveling last summer, fell in love with it, and thought of me! She’s my godmother, so she always brings me gifts from her trips and this time she brought me this elephant as a good luck charm!
What was your embarrassing moment?
It was my birthday in February, so I decided to have a party. A friend of mine said, “Oh! Why not have your party at my house?” and I thought, “Wow, what a nice guy!” Well, on the night of the party, when it was time to sing happy birthday, a new bike suddenly appeared in the hallway, coming towards me! And when the bike was getting closer to me, instead of going to me… it went to my friend! It turns out it was his birthday too but my French isn’t very good and I hadn’t understood!
Why are you a Spanish teacher?
When I’m teaching class, what I’m really doing is giving my students the tools they need to communicate with a huge number of people. I’m giving them the opportunity to open up their world and to discover endless new possibilities.
