This year marked the 20th anniversary of Kranj hosting climbing World Cups, and this year’s competition was a spectacular ending to the 2015 IFSC World Cup season.
The promising 16 year old Slovienen Janja Garnbret put in an impressive effort coming in a close 3rd after Austrian Jessica Pilz who took the silver, but it was Mina Markovic supported by her home crowd who managed to take the gold in the women's event.
This means that Mina takes the overall title for the first time since 2012 ahead of Korea's Jain Kim and Jessica who took third this year.
Over in the men's event, Canadian Sean McColl took silver just behind the Czech machine Adam Ondra who managed to steal the show again this weekend by taking the top spot and cementing his position as IFSC lead world champion and combined champion for 2015.
The Austrian Jakob Schubert held onto a third place in the competition meaning he is third overall and despite Gautier Supper coming in 8th place in Kranj he still finishes 2nd overall this season.
