A delegation of the FARC guerrillas has apologized for a massacre committed in 2002, when they killed between 80 and 100 people in the village of Bojayá. Rebel leader Félix Antonio Muñoz Lascarro, confirmed his responsibility in the attack but said that the guerrillas did not intend to kill the civilians. On May 2, 2002, the FARC launched a hand-made missile against AUC paramilitary forces hiding near a church, but instead of hitting its target, it exploded in the church where townspeople were hiding. The FARC expressed deep regret for the incident. teleSUR
