Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, along with his Ministers of Justice and Defense, signed “The Special Jurisdiction for Peace” on Saturday, which provides for judging those who committed crimes during the 50-year war between the guerrillas and the government. Members of the FARC and the armed forces will be treated differently, due to the fact that the latter are charged with defending Colombians within the scope of the Constitution, despite egregious violations of their duty as exemplified in the “false positives” scandal. Santos said that he had not discussed the document with the FARC. teleSUR
