Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned acts of Jewish terrorism during Sunday's weekly cabinet meeting but said that the scope of Jewish terrorism can not be compared to the much greater level of Palestinian terrorism.
Netanyahu said that while in Israel there was widespread condemnation of any form of Jewish terror by the government, he said that in the Palestinian Authority they praise terror.
Netanyahu said that the people who appeared in a video released last week celebrating the murder of a Palestinian family were both extreme and on the fringes of Israeli society, and “certainly do not represent religious Zionism.”
Attempts to identify religions Zionism with that phenomenon, he added, “does a real injustice to a large public that is faithful to the state, contributes to the state, to the IDF and the most elite units in the IDF.”
Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, a member of the right-wing Jewish Home party, condemned the participants and described the video as "shocking".
