40,000 people attend spiritual gathering, Geo’s Subh-e-Jashan-e-Baharan

KARACHI: Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain on Thursday distributed 47 tickets for Umra at a religious gathering held at the Expo Centre by the Geo TV Network. He increased the number of Umra tickets from 12 to 47.

The ceremony organized to celebrate the birth of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was viewed by millions of people across the globe. Dr Amir Liaquat amused the viewers with his impressive language and Naat Khwani. The ceremony continued for eight hours. As many as 40,000 men and women participated in the ceremony despite a chilly weather. The ceremony was titled Jashan-e-Subh-e-Bahaaran.

Addressing the participants, Dr Amir Liaquat said: “We celebrate the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi to thank the prophet (PBUH) for carrying Allah’s blessings to us.” He said though Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Makkah, the city of Madina Munawara is more prominent. He explained the importance of the number 12 and said this day brightened the whole world.

Addressing the Hindu communities in India, he said Hindus would never be stopped from doing their religious rituals in Pakistan. He said the arrival of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had been predicted by all religious books in the world. About 14 and a half centuries ago, Indian Raga of Gugarat witnessed the miracle of moon-breakage and embraced Islam. He said Islam gave the message of peace and love and gave several references in this context. He said Islam spread because of love, not force. He recited his famous Naats before the address and created an atmosphere full of reverence.

The prominent among the participants were Muhammad Ramazan Chhipa, Dr Fazal Ahmed, Dr Rehan Rathore, Allama Nisar Ali Ujagar, Munawar Atari, Shahryar Tariq, Imran Noori, Mian Mahmood Ahmed, Manjam Ali Muhammad and Muhammad Atif Billu.

As many as 12 Umra tickets were given by the Geo TV Network, 10 by Polani Travels and five by Talo. Besides, 12 gold Mohar-e-Nabuwats and 20 cellphones by the Q Mobile were distributed among the ceremony participants through a draw.

Qari Muhammad Hussain Araeen started the programme with Qirat. Hafiz Ahmed Raza Qadri recited hymn. Imran Sheikh recited Bibi Amna Kai Phool Allah Hi Allah. In the end, Darood-o-Salaam was offered.
