Is your New Year's resolution to stare at your smartphone less? This incident might just be the push you need.
CCTV footage from a bus in China shows the moment a young man passes out on the floor after reportedly starving his brain of blood flow from staring down at his phone for too long.
The video, captured in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on Saturday, shows him looking downwards at his mobile device throughout the trip before suddenly collapsing to the ground as he tried to move.
Fortunately he quickly regains consciousness after the syncope, standing back up with help from fellow passengers.
According to local reports the man, in his twenties, was putting constant pressure on his cervical vertebrae from his posture staring at the phone - causing a lack of blood to his brain.
He is said to have been taken to hospital and fully recovered after a day of diagnostics.
