WUHAN, CHINA — A man who allegedly broadcast a live sex session online is being investigated by Chinese police.

The unidentified man, who goes by the Internet handle "Fangzongbuji 123," streamed a midnight lovemaking session with an unidentified woman on the Douyu TV video website, Shanghai Daily reported.

Police in the central city of Wuhan said on Sunday the man is under investigation, according to Shanghai Daily.

The video, titled "Live Broadcasting of Baby-making," was followed by around 1,000 users and sparked a wave of comments and photos on Chinese social media, Shanghai Daily reported.

Douyu TV blocked the content after it received complaints, according to Shanghai Daily.

The website is best known for live broadcasting video games played by its users.

Douyu TV said on its official Weibo microblog account that it had reported the user to police, Shanghai Daily reported.
