Ruchika Sachdeva is a graduate of the eminent London College of Fashion and has worked with prestigious fashion houses including Vivienne Westwood and Nitin Bal. Her label, BODICE, strives to create an edgy and modern look without detracting from expressing individuality.Inspired by the Indian Maharaja and the Sadhu, Ruchika Sachdeva's Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 collection was a strong, androgynous offering. Combining the two contrasting themes, Ruchika visualised sharply cut blazers, elegant silk blouses and feminine pleated dresses that would be timeless fashion favourites. Shades of maroon, burnt orange, olive and mustard were the prime choice, while hand-woven pure cotton denim, crepe, wool and tulle formed the base.Adding a fun element to the show, Ruchika had white ghungroos and embroidered moustaches to present the theme on the garments themselves. The women's wear segment featured floppy jackets, piped sleeves and loose shirt-coats with fake waistcoat accents, jumpsuits and blouses. Tulle was used as an interesting embellishment and appeared at times on the front of the garment.
