8 Killed, 20 Injured In Factory Boiler Blast In Eastern Pakistan
At least eight people were killed and 20 others injured Tuesday morning in a factory boiler blast in Pakistan's eastern sub-district of Shorkot, police said. According to police, the incident happened when a boiler exploded in the Kashmir Sugar Mill in Shorkot area of Jhang district in the country's eastern Punjab province. Several laborers were trapped under the rubble after the roof of a room near the boiler collapsed after the explosion. Rescue teams and police rushed to the site and pulled out the bodies and injured from the debris and shifted them to a hospital. According to hospital sources, at least 15 injured were in critical condition because of serious burn injuries. Police said the explosion took place due to gas leakage near the boiler.
