Sprawled on his space scooter, the young Sio Dolderan flies through the universe with a chip on his shoulder and rage in his heart. He is the last of his people, the Zubaheuls, a noble clan who has been destroyed by the Consortium. He wants revenge against an adversary that threatens to crush him, and in turn forces him to the edges of propriety and legality. Malo and his crew manage to save him from a sure death situation as he faces off the Consortium, but Sio does not hesitate to betray their confidence by stealing some explosives from their cargo. His intention is clear: blow up a Consortium Tanker. But Malo plans to stop him before he hurts innocent people and commits irreparable damage.
