LITTLE BETTY (4 of 4) - We meet different victims and each victim presents a unique case. They respond differently to everything we offer. We have had to learn to accept them as they are to avoid personal feelings/preferences affecting our service for them. But if you secretly asked me whether we have favorites, I would say YES! It is true were called to help everyone, and indeed we respond without discrimination, but we have some victims who make us happy to help them and when were done, we feel our time and effort was well spent. The ones Im referring to have a positive attitude which makes it easy and pleasant to work on/with them. \r

A positive spirit exudes an aroma - a good scent thats attractive to the digger and everyone around. Little Betty belongs to this adorable group. It was a pleasure to work on her. At her age (5), she pointed out at Jiggers in a bid to help the Jigger Digger have them all out. Not many victims do this, even older, maturer ones who should understand and help us help them dont do that. Betty is different, and I personally felt connected to her. I should be adopting her in the near future. The connection was so strong, I had to ask her grandma and she told me Bettys mother is in the city working as a maid and her father has never been seen, which gave me a clearer green light towards the adoption. \r

Marti (one of our Admin Assistants based in Oklahoma, USA) arrives here in 2 weeks time, and shes coming with Cutex (nail polish) for Bettys little finger and toe nails. After going through the very negative environment with Jeremiah and his family, Betty brought back my withering spirit, and I am so grateful for her tenderness that indeed healed us.\r

THE PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENTARY: These videos are for educational purposes and this does not entail just getting the education while watching, but it is also very important for future endeavors in research. We believe every video is a building block for the future research efforts because every individual video presents unique features which might interest an individual researcher in the future. In this regard we shall put out as many videos and we can, and this is a very important way to share to the world more about the jigger and what it is doing unnoticed in Africa.\r
\r
We also hope to encourage financial partnership with our viewers that will enable us to purchase supplies needed to eradicate the Jigger menace in Kenya. We have no corporate or government funding for supplies and expenses and are, instead, supported by kind-hearted donors.
